Filipino boxer Manny Pacquiao has been elevated to the role of colonel in the Philippines Army.
Pacquiao, 38, who is an army reservist, was promoted from his former role as a lieutenant colonel.

He confirmed his new status by posting a series of pictures on Instagram in his army fatigues.
Pacquiao, who is also a senator in the Asian country of Philippines, wrote: “Today, I successfully defended my commandant’s paper to be promoted to a full Colonel.”
