Change Trainer Or Lose Usyk Rematch – Pundit Nnamdi Moweta Tells Joshua (AUDIO)

Renowned boxing pundit and promoter Nnamdi ‘Hollywood’ Moweta has urged Anthony Joshua to change his trainer Rob McCracken in order to stand a chance of reclaiming his titles from unified heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk in their rematch.

British heavyweight Joshua, 32, has triggered a rematch clause against the 35-year-old Ukrainian Southpaw, after losing his IBF, WBA and WBO belts via unanimous decision at the Tottenham Hotspur stadium last month.

That defeat – only the second in Joshua’s career –did not go down well with the Nigerian-born Moweta, who criticized the Briton’s corner for their approach in the bout.

“Go back and look at the fight with Usyk, what did you see the corner saying to Anthony Joshua?” Moweta asked, in a radio interview monitored by www.busybuddiesng.com. “Just really nothing.

“In the fight game, we say ‘a fighter can lose the fight in the corner,’ which means when he goes back at the end of every round if the corner is just telling him ‘Oh! Jab, jab, jab….move, move, move,’ that’s nothing. You are not breaking down the fight. He comes back in that corner, expecting you to tell him what to do.

“Go back and look at the Frank Sanchez and Eddy Reynoso corner when they fought (Efe) Ajagba, did you see anybody scream right there? No. They were breaking down the fight, waiting for the fighter to come back into the corner and then get him ready to go back to battle.”

The Hollywood man, as he is fondly called, warned that Usyk will knockout Joshua in the rematch, which is expected to take place in the spring of 2022, if the Nigerian-born heavyweight doesn’t change his trainer.

“After the first Anthony Joshua – Andy Ruiz fight, I came out and I said ‘Anthony Joshua must fire; must let his trainer (Rob McCracken) go,” the California-based broadcaster recalled.

“Go back and look at all the fights after the first Andy Ruiz fight, my brother (Joshua) was fighting with fear, my brother was scared to engage.

“Yeah, the rematch clause is there, the fight is going to happen, but if he goes back with the same crew and the same gang in his corner, if he cannot fix that stuff, I bet you one thing; come a spring of 2022, expect Usyk to knockout Anthony Joshua,
