Deborah Abiodun has dedicated her Player of the Match award to her Super Falcons teammates after helping them to a 5-0 win against Cape Verde, completesports.com reports.

Abiodun made a return to the Falcons in Thursday’s 2024 WAFCON playoff in Abuja.

Despite being away from the team, after getting a red card at this year’s women’s World Cup, she won the best player award in the WAFCON qualifiers.

Reacting after receiving the award, Abiodun thanked her teammates and Nigerian fans.

“Honored to receive the Player of the Match award! Huge thanks to my teammates and the incredible support from fans. Let’s keep pushing together! This award is for all of us. ⚽.”

Up next for Abiodun and the Falcons is the second leg on Tuesday, 5th December.
