WWE Reportedly Maintain Hunt for Serena Williams

World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) is reportedly in progressive talks with Tennis Star, Serena Williams to join professional wrestling.

Serena Williams, 37, has won 23 Grand Slam titles and was the world’s number one female tennis player at eight different times between 2002 and 2017.

Reports first emerged after a Web Summit in Lisbon in November, 2018 where WWE’s Chief Brand Officer, Stephanie McMahon without mincing words made it clear Serena was needed.

“I actually happened to be on the same flight as her husband yesterday, but Serena Williams — I mean, the door is open, Serena, I love Serena,” she said according to a news report written by Yahoo’s Reggie Wade.

According to Reggie, a possible Ronda Rousey vs. Serena Williams would likely be the most covered and talked-about women’s wrestling match of all time if Serena ever choose to join WWE.

Last weekend, reports emerged, this time from a purportedly reliable Twitter handle, Slice Wrestling that Stephanie McMahon was leading the charge to finalize a deal between Serena and WWE as conversations between the pro tennis player and the Wrestling Company were in progress.

Serena’s addition will definitely ignite more interest in the women wing of the WWE which got so much attention after its women talents referred to as Divas engaged in an astonishing match which lasted 30 seconds on the February 23, 2015 edition of “Monday Night Raw.”

Unfortunately, Serena has no background experience in combat sports and if she must be thrown into the main roster if she eventually joins, she will need to be technically sound in the ring meaning she will have to learn the ropes quickly.
