Russia 2018 FIFA World Cup star Denis Cheryshev has signed for Valencia on loan from fellow Spanish La Liga side Villareal.
The 27-year-old returns to the Mestalla on a season-long loan deal from the Yellow Submarines.
His loan transfer was confirmed by Los Che on Tuesday afternoon.
“Valencia CF has reached an agreement this Tuesday with Villarreal CF, pending formalisation, for the loan of player Denis Cheryshev until the end of the season.” The club said.
Denis Cheryshev returns to Valencia for a second spell after the Real Madrid youth product spent a brief loan spell from the European champions in 2016.
The Russian international forward was one of the standout performers at the recently concluded FIFA World Cup tournament.
He scored four goals for the hosts as he helped his team reach the quarterfinals before they were knocked out by eventual finalists Croatia on penalties.
