Wilder Accepts Invitation To Fight Anthony Joshua

American boxer Deontay Wilder has accepted the invitation to fight Anthony Joshua ‘AJ’ in the UK this summer.

The keenly awaited fight is expected to determine the undisputed heavyweight champion of the world.

AJ had earlier called out Wilder on Saturday after he saw off Joseph Parker via points to add the WBO title to his own IBF and WBA belts.

According to Wilder’s co-manager, Shelly Finkel, the Wilder camp is ready to start immediate negotiations over a unification contest.

In a chat with the Telegraph, Finkel said: “We are really glad that Anthony Joshua said for the first time: ‘I will fight Deontay next…’ and we believe he is a man of his word. Deontay accepts the challenge.”

“We want to make it public that Deontay wants the fight, and we are prepared to come over, or meet here and get the deal done. Deontay is ready to sign and come to the UK to fight this summer.” he added.

WBC champion Wilder is undefeated in 40 contests and he is the only obstacle in the way of AJ unifying all the division’s belts for the first time in history.

Finkel also revealed that he will contact AJ’s promoter Eddie Hearn this week.
