Arsenal have ended their winless run (dating back to 6 matches) in the North London Derby following a convincing 2-0 win over Tottenham Hotspur at the Emirates Stadium.

The Gunners knew they could not afford to lose more grounds in both the title race and the sprint for top four and their performance matched that as two first half goals in minutes courtesy Skhrodan Mustafi and Alexis Sanchez gave the home side an healthy lead.

Tottenham threw everything at Arsenal in the second half but Arsene Wenger’s side held on for three valuable points as well as the bragging rights in North London.

The victory ended Arsenal’s 6-match winless league run against Tottenham to move them above Liverpool into 5th spot (22 points) while their rivals stay in 3rd position with 23 points.
