West Ham United Sign Evra On Short-Term Deal

West Ham United have signed former Manchester United left-back Patrice Evra on a short-term deal until the end of the season.

The 36-year old had been without a club since November after he left Olympique Marseille by mutual consent for kicking a fan before a UEFA Europa League (UEL) match.

He was subsequently banned from UEFA competition for the rest of the season though he is eligible to play for the Premier League.

On his transfer to the Hammers, Evra stated that he feels “lucky” after signing for the club.

In his words, Patrice Evra said: “It’s amazing to be back and I am thankful to West Ham for giving me the opportunity to do my job.”

“You don’t realise how lucky you are. Just to wake up this morning and know I am going to train with my new team-mates made me smile.

“When you have to make a deal and money is not the issue, the deal could be done in five minutes. It was the fastest thing I have done in my life.” he concluded.
