Wenger Admits Offering €100m For Monaco Youngster, To Try Again In January

Arsenal manager, Arsene Wenger have admitted offering €100m for Monaco midfielder, Thomas Lemar before the summer transfer window closed last week.

21-year-old Lemar was reportedly linked with a move to the Emirates all summer with the Frenchman deciding to stay in Monaco on transfer deadline day despite Arsenal’s big money bid.

When asked how true is the report that Arsenal offered €100m (£92m) for the midfielder, Wenger told French football programme, Téléfoot: “Yes all true, I wanted him. He decided to stay at Monaco, We will come back for him.”

Lemar has made 64 appearances for Monaco since joining from Caen in 2015, scoring 14 goals.
