Weekend Betting Tips

Connah’s Quay vs The New Saints: Connah’s Quay win or draw @1.78

Anyone who’s followed Welsh football – even if for betting purposes – in the last few years will be aware of how prolific The New Saints can be. They’ve won all of the last eight league titles. And that is about that.

But they haven’t been their regular all-dominant side this season. They’ve struggled at times, and are currently third behind last seasons second runners-up Barry Town United, and runners-up Connah’s Quay. It is indeed these two that have shown more consistency this season, and if there was any chance of TNS’ run being halted, then this is it.

This weekend when Connah’s Quay [26 points] hosts The New Saints [25 points], there’s so much at stake.

While The New Saints have lost thrice already this season, Connah’s Quay are still unbeaten after 12 games each played, which makes the 1.78 offered on a double chance for them a bit ridiculous.

Already this season, TNS have shown they have a soft underbelly, especially away from home, losing twice and drawing once in their six away matches. Not only are Connah’s unbeaten, they’ve won their last four at Deeside Stadium.

Looking for a good value bet, he’s one you should totally back.

Nice vs Reims: Under 2.5 goals @1.50

While it is second placed Nantes that have stolen the headlines so often this season, they haven’t been the only team in Ligue 1 punching about their weight while keeping it super-tight at the back.

Reims are currently in 4th place, boasting the best defence in the league; with just 4[!] goals conceded, and have already kept eight clean sheets in 11 games this season. There’s also the little matter of their 2-0 win away at PSG.

Goals have come too few and far between in Reims games, with just 13 goals scored in total in their 11 games. They’ve managed just 9.

So this weekend when Reims play at Nice, a low scoring game is very much expected. Not the least because their recent games haven’t produced much either. Indeed, the last 9 matches between them have seen less than three goals.

Just one Reims game has gone over 2.5 goals so far this season. Anything, let alone a 1.50 on Under 2.5, in a Reims game is good value.

Bologna vs Inter Milan: Inter Milan win @2.08

2.08 for an Inter Milan win against Bologna?! What’s the catch? I can’t find any reasons why Inter Milan have been offered so much for a win at Bologna.

Bologna haven’t been great this season. If anything, they’ve been the epitome of inconsistency. Their 11th position and their form [DLDLWL] further reflects that.

Inter Milan meanwhile have been in great form so far. Not only are they pushing Juventus for the lead early on, they also rank 2nd in most goals scored and 3rd in fewest goals conceded.

Their crucial Champions League match next week against Borussia Dortmund may be a distraction, but Antonio Conte has shown he won’t trade fighting Juventus for the title for anything, so expect him to set the Nerazzurri up to be as competitive as possible to get the points.

Manchester City vs Southampton: 1 – 30min @1.64

Despite not starting off early against Aston Villa last weekend, Manchester City have proven to be ever consistent when it comes to going at opponents early in matches. Against Villa, after not scoring in the first half, they scored in the first minute of the second.

Saints are in a very bad place. After their demoralising 9-0 loss to Leicester City a week ago, they lost 3-1 at the Etihad against Manchester City. In that game, City stayed true to character, scoring inside the first 20 minutes, and taking a 2-0 lead into half time.

So far this season, Manchester City have scored 7 of their 17 home goals in the opening 30 minutes of matches. Can Southampton stop the rampaging Citizens?

Union Berlin vs Hertha Berlin: Over 2.5 goals @1.86

It’s Derby Day in Berlin…

There’s so much at stake when Union Berlin host Hertha Berlin. Like many derbies, there’ll be enough emotion, passion to go round.

The fixture has seen a lot of goals in recent meetings, with four of their last five seeing at least three goals.

Their recent runs have hinted at goals too. There have been over 2.5 goals scored in 11 of Hertha Berlin’s last 12 Bundesliga games while Union have seen three or more in their last two games.

BONUS: Robert Lewandowski to score at anytime

How about another Lewandowski goal? Eintracht Frankfurt and Bayern Munich hardly ever disappoints when it comes to producing goals. This time, you get 1.50 for backing the Polish who still has the record of scoring in every match he’s played for Bayern Munich in the league this season.
