We Won’t Lose Tomorrow – Rohr Assures Nigerian Fans

Super Eagles head coach Gernot Rohr has assured Nigerian fans that the team won’t lose to World Cup first timers Iceland in their second Group D clash on Friday evening.

Rohr had earlier masterminded a 2-0 loss to Croatia at the Kaliningrad Stadium in Kaliningrad on Saturday night in his team’s opening match at the ongoing tournament in Russia.

The result means that there’s no room for error on the part of the three-time African champions when they face Iceland at the Volgograd Arena on Friday evening.

A defeat against the minnows would signal the end of the road for the Super Eagles as far as this World Cup is concerned.

Gernot Rohr was speaking about his team in his pre-match press conference which he attended alongside first choice goalkeeper Francis Uzoho.

The duo pointed out that the team is united ahead of the crucial clash with Iceland.

In his words, the former Bayern Munich defender said: “We’re living like a family, we have a plan and we won’t lose tomorrow.”

A win for the Super Eagles of Nigeria would put the team in a good position to qualify for the knockout stage for the 4th time out of 6 World Cup appearances.
