Super Eagles forward Alex Iwobi is certain that the team can beat Argentina again when both sides meet at this summer’s FIFA World Cup in Russia.
Nigeria produced a remarkable performance to come from two goals behind for a 4-2 win in an international friendly clash last year.
Arsenal forward Alex Iwobi scored a brace in that game and he is optimistic that the team can reprise that performance again at the World Cup.
Iwobi was speaking in a chat with the BBC on Tuesday, the 21-year old said: “Argentina were missing their star man [Lionel] Messi, but we were also missing some of our players. We are confident we can repeat that at the World Cup.”
“We were unbeaten in the World Cup qualifiers and we are confident and have young talent, who want to prove themselves any time they are on the pitch.” he added.
The Super Eagles of Nigeria will face Argentina in their final game in Group D on June 26.
