Wayne Rooney Leaves Everton For American Club DC United (Video)

English forward Wayne Rooney has completed his move from Everton to DC United.

Rooney, 32, joins the Major League Soccer (MLS) outfit from Everton after signing a three-and-a-half year deal.

There will be no transfer fee involved but DC United have agreed a hefty compensation package with the Premier League side according to popular media outlet BBC.

His deal is worth £10m thus making him the highest paid player in the club’s history.

The transfer was confirmed by DC United via a video from their official Twitter handle on Thursday.

The former Manchester United star will officially join DC United when the US mid-season transfer window opens on July 10.

Wayne Rooney rejoined Everton from Manchester United last summer after spending 13 fruitful years at Old Trafford.

He won five league titles, three League Cups, an FA Cup title and the 2008 Champions League title with the Red Devils.

Rooney is halfway through the two-year deal he signed last summer but he has decided to leave the club for MLS.

He leaves the Premier League as the second highest goalscorer in history with 208 goals, behind former Newcastle United striker Alan Shearer (260).
