Everton striker, Wayne Rooney has been reportedly arrested close to his home in Cheshire for drink-driving following a night out with friends on Thursday night.

31-year-old Rooney, who announced his retirement from international football this month, partied through the evening at a bar in Alderley Edge and was said to have spent the night in Police cells after the arrest.

Wayne Rooney ended his trophy laden 13 years stay at Manchester United last month by moving back to boyhood club Everton and have since scored two goals for the Toffees.
