Volleyball: Nigeria U19 Boys Thrash Karu United Ahead Of African Nations Championship

Nigeria’s U19 Boys Volleyball team made light work of Karu United on Sunday, defeating the professional side (25-22, 25-23, 25-19) in a friendly game ahead of the U19 African Nations Volleyball Championship.

Head coach of the U19 side Sabi Mohammed was impressed by his team’s performance and declared them ready to do the nation proud at the continental tournament.

The former Niger Brass gaffer urged volleyball stakeholders in the country to rally round the national team.

“The game against Karu United is a litmus test ahead of the Nations Championship. If you look at Karu United, they have some former U19 players and some established players too but despite their threat, we still overcame them.

“I am appealing to volleyball stakeholders within and outside the country to pray for the success of the team. The boys are on the verge of putting the name of the country on the map once against and it is with your support we can do it.”

Meanwhile, the Nigeria U18 Girls lost to Abuja selected volleyball team 3-2 (20-25, 25-14, 23-25, 25-22,12-15) on Sunday.
