Nigeria’s senior men volleyball team got their All Africa Games Zone 3 qualifiers to an impressive start with a 3-0 (25-20, 25-18, 25-20) whitewash of Niger Republic in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire.
Daniel Nathaniel was the star as the team recently put together after being disbanded two years ago got off to a flyer.
Coach Japhet Nuhu praised his players’ flawless showing against the Nigeriens and said the team remains focused on ensuring victory in their two remaining games.
“We know what is at stake, the players cannot afford to disappoint the volleyball family and Nigerians.”
Nigeria take on Côte d’Ivoire in their second match on Monday.
