Volleyball: Bauchi To Host 2nd Leg Of Division One League In October

The Nigeria Volleyball Federation (NVBF) has fixed the second leg of the National Division One volleyball league for Bauchi State according to the League Management Committee of the NVBF.

Chairman of the committee, Professor Olatunde Morakinyo, said the competition will be staged at the volleyball court of the Bauchi Stadium from 16 to 27 October.

Professor Morakinyo said the NBVF is working with the Bauchi State government to ensure a successful staging of the division one league.

According to Professor Morakinyo, a total of 14 teams comprising 10 men teams and four women teams are expected to participate in the division one league with promotion to the premier league reserved for the top two teams in each category.

“The much expected second leg of the division one league will hold next October in Bauchi and the state government also promised us a hitch free league,” he said.

“The level of preparation ahead of the competition is very high.

“14 teams consisting of 10 men and 4 women teams will slug it out in Bauchi and the top two teams in both categories will gain promotion to the 2020 Nigeria Volleyball Premier League,” he added.

Sunshine Spikers of Ondo State currently lead the table in the men’s category with 26 points while the Nigeria Police Force occupy first position in the women’s category with 9 points.
