Victor Oshimen will equal Victor Ikpeba’s Ligue 1 goal record if he grabs a hat-trick against Toulouse at the Stade Pierre Mauroy on Saturday.
Oshimen needs just three goals to be at par with the former Super Eagles’ forward who clinched 16 goals for Monaco in the 1997-98 season – the highest number of goals ever scored by a Nigerian in France’s topflight.
Ikpeba was part of Nigeria’s gold wining team at the African Nations Cup in 1994 before lifting Gold at the 1996 Olympics at Atlanta, USA.
Oshimen joined Lille OSC from Charleroi and has registered 13 goals in as many as 24 League appearances.
Lille are currently fourth on the Ligue 1 log.
