Players of Vandrezzer FC will file out today Saturday May 22, wearing the new 2020/2021 season second round kits which were unveiled on Saturday.
A club statement said the new kits with the theme POWERING A NEW ERA have simple but artistic designs, inspired by the traditional craft of indigenous tailoring of HEXXEN, the kit manufacturers.
The new kits include Home, Away, and Third kits. New Warm Up and Training kits have also been released, each with its unique design.
As in last season’s jerseys, the name of principal sponsors VANDREZZER spreads across the front of all three playing kits, with the VFC badge by the top left of the shirt and bottom left of the shorts, while the HEXXEN logo sits on the top right of the shirt and bottom right of the shorts.
Audio visual partners SME’s crest grace the shirt sleeves.
Maintaining the traditional white and navy blue from last season, the new home kit has navy blue lightening strikes splattered all over the top, to signify the electrifying atmosphere the squad and the club comes with on Matchdays.
The Away Kit also has the similar orange colour from the former version, but with additional diagonal blue stripes across the shirt, similar to marks from a lion’s claw. This signifies the strength of the team – attributes of a Lion.
A beautifully crafted all black design with gold splashes is what makes up the Third Kit, an indication of VFC’s esteemed value in Nigerian football today.
The new warm up attires come in colours of black with yellow design and another one in orange and black design; while the latest training wears are of yellow and green variant.
VFC COO Kingsley Ogbonna described the kits as “a blend of artistry and athletic innovation put together by fine indigenous tailoring.”
Goalkeeper Emmanuel Daniel admits the season has been tough, but believes the jerseys are a great boost: “we would wear this jersey with all pride and I trust it’ll bring us luck.”
“The kit is very cool, I like the lightening design especially of the home kit. No doubt, we are the best dressed team in the league” said defender David Mark.
Brazilian winger Ivo Júnior described the away kit as extremely beautiful: “this is lovely and can easily be one of the best set of jerseys I would own. The texture is smooth and comfortable and everyone would love it.”
For striker Kolawole Daniel, “I can’t wait to try all the kits, especially the third one which is as black as me. I promise to score more goals with these”.
Coach Tony Bolus leads the Lions against Go Round FC in a Week 15 encounter at the club’s Soccer Temple home ground, wearing the new home kits.
