V/Ball: Wikki Spikers, Kada Kings Set Pace As Division One League Serves Off

The second phase of the 2021 National Division 1 Volleyball League served off in Abuja on Saturday with Wikki Spikers of Bauchi and Kada Kings recording impressive opening wins.

Wikki Spikers hammered a young Oluyole Spikers team 3-0 (25-17, 26-24, 25-18) while Kada Kings showed eased Spartans VC 3-0 (25-22, 25-16, 25-18) to set the pace on day one at the Indoor Sports Hall of the MKO Abiola National Stadium.

Commenting on his team’s successful start to the second phase of the league, Wikki Spikers head coach, Mudi Mohammed praised his players’ efforts while revealing his team’s ambition to win the tournament and secure ascent to the Premier League.

“I feel delighted beating Oluyole Spikers of Oyo in our first match and I hope to correct some lapses in the team,” Mohammed said after the match.

“We want to be at the 2022 Nigeria Volleyball Premier League where we will compete with clubs in the same class.” he revealed.
