Maria Sharapova’s quest for a second US Open title came to an end with a fourth round defeat in the hands of 16th seed Anastasija Sevastova.

Sevastova lost the first set, but bounced back in style for a 5-7 6-4 6-2 win to reach the US Open quarter-finals for a second straight year.
