Unpaid Bonus – Neymar Considers Reporting Barcelona To FIFA

World’s most expensive footballer, Neymar, is reportedly considering a formal complaint to FIFA over Barcelona’s refusal to pay loyalty bonus to his agent.

Barcelona has refused to pay Neymar’s agent, who is also his father, a loyalty bonus around £23m following the Brazilian’s contract renewal with Barcelona last year.

According to Sky Sports, The 25-year-old forward feels very bad about the situation and is “considering” filing a formal complaint to the world football’s governing body, FIFA.

Barcelona’s spokesperson, Josep Vives, told reporters recently that the Catalan club “will not pay the bonus to Neymar’s father.”

He continued: “There were three conditions: the player must not negotiate his departure from the club during the month before the bonus became payable, he must demonstrate his desire to fulfill his contract, and that we would not pay out the bonus before September 1, to ensure the transfer window was closed.

“Now that we know that none of these three conditions were met, we will not honour that bonus.”

Neymar completed his world record €222m move to Paris Saint-Germain last week, and will reportedly earn £40.3m in wages per year after tax, with around £515,000-a-week.
