Manchester United goalkeeper Joel Pereira has joined Portuguese Super League club Vitoria Setubal on a season-long loan ahead of the new football season.
His loan move was confirmed by the Red Devils via their Twitter handle on Thursday evening.
The 22-year-old returns to his home nation having spent the 2016/17 season at Portuguese outfit Belenenses.
After that season, he returned to Old Trafford and was the third-choice goalkeeper at Manchester United behind David De Gea and Sergio Romero.
He featured once throughout last season and that was in the EFL Cup.
The arrival of Lee Grant from Stoke City earlier this summer pushed him down the pecking order thus making his transfer inevitable.
Joel Pereira’s contract at Manchester United expires in 2021.
