UEL Review (Late Kickoff): Leipzig Stun Napoli As Atletico Recover To Thrash Copenhagen

German side RB Leipzig produced one of the stunning results of the UEFA Europa League (UEL) round of 32 first leg after they recovered from a goal down to beat their hosts and favourites Napoli 3-1.

After a goalless first half affair, Adam Ounas shot Napoli into the lead with seven half minutes but the German Bundesliga side levelled nine minutes through Timo Werner afterwards before further goals from Bruma and Werner took the game further away from the Italians ahead of the second leg game scheduled for next week Thursday in Germany.

Favourites Atletico Madrid suffered an early scare away to Danish giants FC Copenhagen but they did well to recover to secure an emphatic 4-1 away victory.

Victor Fisher shot the home side into the lead and that setback seemed to propel Atletico into a stunning response as Saul Niguez and Kevin Gameiro hit the back of the net to overturn the deficit in the first half before further goals in the second half from Antoine Griezmann and Vitolo stretched the Spanish side’s advantage to all but render the second leg inconsequential.
