UEFA Europa League (UEL) favourites Atletico Madrid are through to the quarterfinals after they thrashed Lokomotiv Moscow 8-1 on aggregate in their round of 16 tie.

With the Spanish giants leading 3-0 from the home leg, Angel Correa gave the visitors a 16th minute lead in Moscow before Maciej Rybus equalised for home side four minutes later.

Atletico Madrid thereafter turned on the style in the 2nd half with four goals from Saul Niguez, Fernando Torres (2) and Antoine Griezmann for a 5-1 win on the night and an 8-1 aggregate win.

Diego Simeone’s men will join other quarterfinalists like Olympique Marseille, Lazio, Sporting Lisbon and RB Leipzig.
