UCL Wrap: PSG Thrash Bayern As Chelsea Shock Atletico

French giants Paris Saint Germain (PSG) showed the strength of their new team following a very impressive 3-0 thrashing of Bayern Munich in their UEFA Champions League (UCL) clash at the Parc des Princes.

The hosts took an early lead through Brazilian defender Daniel Alves after he was teed up by the most expensive player in world football, Neymar. Uruguay striker Edinson Cavani added a second goal in the first half before the aforementioned Neymar wrapped up the win with a close range finish in the second half.

In another huge UCL clash played on Wednesday night, substitute Michy Batshuayi scored a late goal to hand Chelsea a 2-1 win over Atletico Madrid in what was their first European game at the stadium they now call home (Estadio Metropolitano).

Atletico took a first half lead courtesy Antoine Griezmann’s penalty after David Luiz was penalised but the English champions produced an excellent second half display to overturn the result. New summer signing Alvaro Morata equalised for the Blues before Batshuayi’s late show.

Another English side in Manchester United also recorded an away victory after a 4-1 win at CSKA Moscow. Belgium striker Romelu Lukaku continued his fine goal scoring form with two goals to take his tally for the season to 10 goals. Anthony Martial and Henrikh Mkhitaryan got the other goals for the Red Devils before Constantin Kuchaev scored a consolation goal for the home side.
