UCL: Unbelievable Reason Why Emmanuel Dennis Will Miss Club Brugge Clash Against Borussia Dortmund

Football players have been known to miss matches for a variety of reasons ranging from the normal – injury, ill health and disciplinary reasons to the downright bizarre – holidaying and lying about a family bereavement only to be caught partying.

And now, Super Eagles striker Emmanuel Dennis can add his name to the latter category after he was ruled out of Club Brugge’s UEFA Champions League Group F clash at Borussia Dortmund for the most incredible reason.

The reason Dennis is missing from the squad according to Belgian newspaper Het Laatste Nieuws is because he stormed off the team bus after not being able to sit where he wanted.

The report claims Dennis reacted angrily on the team bus because he wasn’t allowed to sit where he wanted.

Brugge have placed strict measures on the team bus amid the coronavirus pandemic.

The 23-year-old striker who scored in his side’s 2-1 victory over Zenit St Petersburg on matchday 1, will reportedly be fined for his outburst.

Brugge boss Philippe Clement confirmed the Dennis was dropped for disciplinary reasons, saying he’s fit but not available for tonight’s group stage fixture.

“Dennis is fit, but not in our selection,” he said. “He didn’t follow the club’s rules, that’s all I want to say about that. I prefer to concentrate on the players who are available to me. “

Dennis has endured a difficult start to the season and is yet to score a goal in seven appearances in the Belgian league.

The 23-year-old striker announced himself to the European elite last season with a brace at the Santiago Bernabeu in the Champions League and burnished his burgeoning reputation further by scoring against Manchester United in the Europa League

His performances on the biggest stages led to him being linked to some of Europe’s biggest teams in the summer but following this incident, he has also ensured his place in a list of footballers who have missed games for the most outlandish reasons.
