Thirty thousand Nigerians will sit together on Tuesday, April 16th to watch Manchester United take on Barcelona in a reverse UEFA Champions League fixture at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium as the UEFA Champions League Trophy hits the city of Uyo for the first time.

It will be the third time in history that the UEFA Champions League Trophy will visit Nigeria. Previously in 2014 and 2018, Lagos hosted the UEFA Champions League tour on both occasions.

Passionate football lovers are expected to fill the 30,000 capacity stadium which is adjudged one of Africa’s best stadiums and will witness on screen Manchester United’s bid to turn round a one-goal deficit at Camp Nou after the first leg ended at Old Trafford 0–1 with Luke Shaw scoring an own goal.

Nigerian Breweries PLC portfolio manager, Serah Agah revealed the Tour was brought to Uyo because of the quality of sports infrastructure, warmth of the people and the need to reward passionate fans of the round leather game in the city.

Lagos will equally experience the tour which is meant to last for two days from April 16 to April 18.
