UCL: Newly Capped Super Eagle Emmanuel Dennis Hits Brace Against Real Madrid In Spain

Newly capped Super Eagles striker Emmanuel Dennis announced himself to the European elite in devastating fashion as his brace nearly gave Belgian club Club Brugge a shock victory against Real Madrid in the UEFA Champions League at the Santiago Bernabeu on Tuesday.

The 21-year-old who made his debut for Nigeria in an 8-minute cameo against Ukraine last month stunned the Madrid faithful with two goals in the 9th and 39th minute to give the underdogs a shock 2-0 lead in Spain.

The 13-times champions, however, rallied to force a draw and avert massive embarrassment through strikes from Sergio Ramos and Casemiro in the second half.

Notwithstanding the disappointing result, Dennis, who was born in Abuja and made the journey to Europe in 2016 when he signed for Ukrainian side Zorya Luhansk has served notice about his prodigious talent.

Emmanuel Dennis has also scored twice in six league appearances for Club Brugge in the Jupiler League.

Club Brugge are next in action at home in the league against rivals Gent on Sunday, 6 October.
