Two Burundi Officials Arrested For “Conspiracy Against The President”

Two Burundi officials have been arrested on charges of “conspiracy against the president.”

Kiremba administrator Cyriaque Nkezabahizi and his assistant Michel Mutama were arrested on Thursday after the Burundi president Pierre Nkurunziza alleged that their team roughened him up during a football match.

Nkurunziza travels around the country with his football club named ‘Haleluya FC’.

Haleluya FC met with the team from the Northern town of Kiremba in a football match.

The president was however roughly tackled during the game mainly because some of the players from the opposition team were Congolese and didn’t know the his status in the society.
