Tottenham-West Ham League Clash Gets New Date For This Reason

The Premier League clash between London clubs, Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham United, has been postponed till next year because of safety concerns.

The decision to postpone the London Derby league clash from December 31 to January 4 was announced by the English Premier League via a statement on Monday.

The decision was reached after the Safety Advisory Group at the host venue, Wembley Stadium, could only recommend a maximum crowd of 43,000 (less than half of the stadium capacity) for the initial date.

The statement said: “The League selected this match for Dec. 31 with the expectation that a regular crowd capacity would be able to attend.”

“However, in spite of significant work by all parties to achieve this, ultimately the Safety Advisory Group at Wembley Stadium would only recommend a maximum crowd of 43,000.” it read further.
