Top Stars Djokovic, Wawrinka To Return In December

Top tennis stars Novak Djokovic and Stanislas Wawrinka will make their return  from injuries at the World Tennis Championship in December.

Former world number one and 12-time Grand Slam recipient, Djokovic, suffered a season-ending elbow injury and has pencilled down the Abu Dhabi exhibition event from December 28th to 30th for his comeback.

Speaking on the issue, the world number seven said:

“The line-up is very strong and it will be the perfect way to make my comeback and begin the season.”

Swiss star and French Open finalist Stan Wawrinka is also set to make his return at the tournament. He ended his season in August because of a knee injury.

The Abu Dhabi event is held two weeks before the Australian Open, the first Grand Slam tournament of the season, begins.

Djokovic and world number nine Wawrinka will play alongside world number one Rafael Nadal, Austria’s Dominic Thiem, Spain’s Pablo Carreno Busta and 2016 Wimbledon finalist Milos Raonic.
