Super Falcons coach Thomas Dennerby says Ibom Angels forward and captain Glory Ogbonna has a chance to get back into the national team setup after watching the opening fixture of the 2018/2019 Nigeria Women Premier League between Confluence Queens and Ibom Angels.
Under the Swede, Glory represented Nigeria at the FIFA U-20 Women World Cup alongside earning call-ups to play in the WAFU Women’s Cup and Africa Cup of Nations but was excluded from the Super Falcon’s squad for the 2019 Women’s World Cup.
Dennerby said the Ibom Angels Captain alongside other national team players who had been excluded from his world cup squad can find their way back in the national team by working harder.
“About the players that have been in the national team before, they played well. If they just keep on working hard every day and they go to the training session with the club and keep on improving themselves, they will have a chance to be in the team again.”
Ibom Angels next host fellow Angels from Abia State at the Uyo Township Stadium on Wednesday, 31st July.
