The 24 Coaches of the 2019 Abridged Nigeria Professional Football League

Every ship needs a Captain, every child needs a mother, and every team needs a coach. A coach figure is mostly older; more experienced and equipped with barrels of instructions meant to arm his team he guides against opponents.

Nigeria’s topflight football league, the Nigeria Professional Football League has evolved over the years. This year, the league enjoys a certain distinction in that Twenty Four (24) teams are partaking in it compared to twenty (20) in recent years.

More so, the format is abridged with 12 team apportioned into two groups each thereby shortening the span of the league. The wisdom in adopting the abridged is rather to help Nigeria recover time it lost last year due to a world cup break, crisis at the Glass House and an initial inability of the Nigeria National League to produce the expected number of teams meant to join the top-tier League.

The Devil You Do Not Know is Better than the Angel You don’t know?

Sequel to the commencement of the new season, a percentage of clubs found it necessary to get new hands at the reins while others stocked with their Gaffers.

With the league already experiencing nine (9) matchdays, it is certain the coaches of the respective clubs are established, though some coaches are jittery about how many more days the clubs they lead will tolerate their dismal results.

These are a list of coaches in the 2019 abridged Nigeria Professional League. Already, Bernard Ogbe quit his position as Coach of Niger Tornadoes in February.
