Super Falcons Land In Abidjan For 2018 WAFU

The Super Falcons of Nigeria have landed in the Ivorian capital of Abidjan ahead of the 2018 WAFU Cup of Nations tournament scheduled to start on Wednesday.

The delegation is led by new Super Falcons coach Thomas Dennerby.

The Nigerian squad also includes Super Falcons assistant coaches Wemimo Mathew and Maureen Madu, the team doctor and the physiotherapist.

Team Administrator Modupe Shabi and Assistant Coach Omobolanle Taiwo are expected to join the team on Wednesday.

The playing squad includes veteran midfielder Osarenoma Igbinovia, Joy Jegede, Anam Imo, Rasheedat Ajibade, Chioma Wogu, Glory Ogbonna, Amarachi Okoronkwo and Kemi Famuditi.

8-time African champions Super Falcons will play their tournament opener against Benin Republic on Thursday at 3pm local time (4pm Nigeria).

Nigeria will thereafter face Senegal on Saturday, February 15th before they tackle Togo on Monday, 19th February.
