Super Eagles’ Victor Osimhen Breaks European Record

Super Eagles forward, Victor Osimhen broke Nigeria’s Imoh Ezekiel’s 6-year-old fastest goal record in the Belgian League despite failing To help Charleroi secure a Europa League spot ahead of next season.

Osimhen scored after just nine seconds to break a six-year record set by compatriot Imoh Ezekiel, but it was not enough for Sporting Charleroi as they lost narrowly 3-2 to Antwerp in the Europa League final playoffs.

Antwerp will now feature at the continental stage next season ahead of Osimhen’s club.

Osimhen registered twenty (20) goals in all competitions in the just concluded season after arriving on loan from Bundesliga club Wolfsburg.

The 20-year-old is now expected to cash in on his haul of goals with a big-money move to a top European club even though Charleroi have the first option on signing him permanently.
