Super Eagles Stars Discover Europa League Group Opponents

Leicester City duo Wilfred Ndidi and Kelechi Iheanacho alongside Rangers duo Leon Balogun and Joe Aribo as well as Napoli striker Victor Osimhen and Granada midfielder Ramon Azeez have discovered their group opponents in the 2020-21 Europa League following draws held on Friday.

The Foxes have been drawn in Group G where they will face Braga, AEK Athens and Ukrainian side Zorya Luhansk.

Osimhen’s Napoli, the 1989 champions, face Real Sociedad, AZ Alkmaar and Croatian club Rijeka in Group F.

Balogun and Aribo of Rangers will play in Group D alongside Benfica, Standard Liege and Lech Poznan.

Azeez’s Granada face 1978 winners PSV Eindhoven, PAOK, and Cypriot club Omonoia in Group E.

Meanwhile, FA Cup winners Arsenal with the recently called up Three Lion Bukayo Saka will face League of Ireland side Dundalk, Rapid Vienna and Molde in Group B.

Tottenham have been drawn alongside Bulgarian champions Ludogorets, LASK and Royal Antwerp in Group J.

Scottish champions Celtic were drawn in Group H with AC Milan, Lille and Sparta Prague.

Bayer Leverkusen, who won in 1988, play Slavia Prague, Hapoel Beer-Sheva and Nice in Group C.

The first three group matches will take place on successive Thursdays from 22 October.

Leicester qualified for the Europa League after they were beaten to a top-four place on final day of the 2019-20 Premier League season while Rangers who finished in second in the Scottish Premiership last season, progressed against Turkish giants Galatasaray.

CSKA Moscow, who won the 2005 Uefa Cup, are in Group K along with fellow former winners Feyenoord, Croatia’s Dinamo Zagreb and Wolfsberger of Austria.
