Super Eagles Remain 3rd-Best African Team In Latest FIFA Rankings

The Super Eagles have retained their place as the 31st-best team in the world and the 3rd-best national team in Africa according to the latest FIFA rankings released on Thursday.

The three-time African Champions didn’t play any matches in the time between the last rankings in December 2019 and February 2020, and so failed to accrue any points.

Senegal’s Teranga Lions remain Africa’s highest-ranked side in 20th place followed by North Africans Tunisia who are ranked 27th.

Belgium, France and Brazil remain unchanged in the top three with England, Uruguay, Croatia, Portugal, Spain, Argentina and Colombia making up the rest of the top ten. The top twenty teams also remained unchanged.

The Super Eagles and other countries will get the chance to accrue ranking points to improve their positions after the first international break of 2020 in March.

Nigeria will play Sierra Leone in a double-decker in the 2021 African Cup of Nations qualifiers

The next FIFA ranking will be released on 9 April after March’s international round of matches.
