The Super Eagles of Nigeria dropped three spots from 42nd to 45th in the latest rankings of national men’s football teams released by the FIFA, world football governing body, on Friday.

Despite the drop, Nigeria who are currently on an eight-match unbeaten run maintained their third place in Africa behind Senegal and Tunisia, who are ranked 23rd and 25th respectively.

Senegal moved up one spot in the ranking, while Tunisia moved up three places in the latest rankings.

Meanwhile, Nigeria’s group opponents at the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations – slated to begin on June 21 in Egypt – Guinea and Madagascar dropped places. Guinea dropped three places from 67th to 71 while Madagascar slipped from 107 to 108.

Burundi, however, moved up two places from 138 to 136 in the ranking. The next world ranking will be published on July 25.
