Super Eagles’ John Ogu Draws The Curtain On Hapoel Beer Sheva Contract

Super Eagles’ midfielder, John Ogu has brought down the veil on his five year contract with Israeli football club, Hapoel Beer Sheva.

Ogu made the announcement on his official Twitter handle on Tuesday morning having seen out his five year contract deal with the club.

“After 5 years here in Hapoel Beer sheva, I have decided I won’t be continuing my career here. All I just want to say is ,thank you to everyone that made it possible for me to be here . Thank you for the memories and support . And to the fans ,I specially say a Big Thank you ” Ogu tweeted.

The 30-year-old believes he still has something to offer and pointed out he was still capable of playing at a high level in either Germany or Spain.

Ogu joined Hapoel Beer Sheva in September 2014 after stints in Slovenia, Spain and Portugal.

In his 186 appearances for the Israeli side, Ogu scored a total of 18 goals, provided eight assists alongside wining three successive league titles as well as lifting the Israeli Super Cup twice.
