Super Eagles finish the year in a better position on latest FIFA rankings

The Super Eagles of Nigeria finish the 2018 calendar year in the 44th position of the FIFA/Coca-Cola World Ranking with 1,427 points, an untouched position from the previous ranking released in November.

The three-time African champions also remain in the 4th position in Africa behind Senegal, Morroco and Tunisia respectively.

The Eagles end the year on a better note than 2017 where Nigeria was ranked in the 50th position prior to a World Cup year.

FIFA 2018 World Cup champions, France end 2018 behind leaders Belgium, who top the rankings with just one point ahead of the world champions.

Lionel Messi’s Argentina end the year outside the top 10 ranked nations in 11th position, while Germany who had one of the worst years in their history finish in 16th place.

The next FIFA/Coca-Cola World Ranking is expected to be published on February 7, 2019.
