Super Eagles Duo Travel Back In Time To Keep Fit

It was indeed a sight to behold as Super Eagles pair John Ogu and Samuel Kalu stripped back the years to take part in a series of fitness drills on a sand pitch in Lagos.

Known more as breeding grounds for future stars than a training pitch for Bonafide Super Eagles superstars, these fields popularly called “sand fields” which dot the Lagos landscape have served as incubators for budding football talent since time immemorial.

Indeed, many notable past and present stars were discovered and began their football journey on one such field which have come to compensate for the lack of proper facilities in the state.

And with Ogu and Kalu both on holiday in Nigeria following the end of the season in their respective club sides, they returned to the time before they found fame and fortune in a bid to keep fit.

It may have been years since they trained on such a surface and they are certainly used to very different surroundings now, but Ogu and Kalu took to the field like fish to water as they participated in a series of fitness drills alongside other people.
