Atlético Madrid came from behind at Real Valladolid to claim the 2020-21 Spanish La Liga title on a dramatic last day of the season.

Former Barcelona striker Luis Suarez scored the winner and the title clinching goal after Angel Corea had drawn the visitors level in the second half.

The home side who needed to win to stand a chance of staying up took the lead in the 18th minute through Oscar Plano and led until the 57th minute before Atlétic turned it around.

Atleti’s nearest challengers Real Madrid also needed a second half comeback to beat Villarreal at the Alfredo di Stéfano.

Karim Benzema scored and assisted Luka Modric’s late winner in what ultimately proved a futile victory.
