Strikers Profligacy Not An Issue – Maikaba (AUDIO)

Akwa United gaffer Abdul Maikaba says he is not bothered about the flurry of goal scoring chances missed by his players in their game against Yobe Desert Stars on their Matchday 3 in Uyo

Despite beating their visitors 2-0 on Sunday courtesy of goals from new boy Victor Mbaoma and Michael Ibe, the Promise Keepers failed to covert about three clear cut chances in the game.

“We have been doing a lot and we’ll continue to do it. Last year in the first three games we scored just one goal. This season is even better”

The 2017 AITEO Cup winning coach says he strongly believes his boys will get better, referring to last season when they ended up firing on all cylinders towards the climax

“Remember last season we were scoring up to six goals in a game so I believe we will get there. ”

Akwa United are now 2nd on the log with 6 points from 3 games. They had earlier beaten Rangers 2-0 on match day one in Uyo before loosing away to newly promoted Go Round FC by a lone goal on Matchday 2.
