Sports Minster Drops Another Bombshell (Video)

The Minister of Youths and Sports in Nigeria, Solomon Dalung, and controversies are not new to each other and the latest episode has to be right up there with the very best.

For the newest episode, Dalung was embarrassingly captured on camera as he referred to the Argentina national football team as a football association in Nigeria.

The Minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria dropped his latest bombshell while he was speaking with reporters immediately after the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting on Wednesday.

He was talking about Super Eagles’ impressive 4-2 win over Argentina at the Krasnodar Stadium in Krasnodar, Russia and in his bid to point out that a top ranking nation like Argentina were humiliated by a low ranking Nigeria, the Sports Minister called Argentina “an association in Nigeria’.

In his words, he said: “Argentina is one of the highly ranked Football Association in Nigeria.”

Solomon Dalung also revealed that the victory was discussed and applauded at the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting presided over by the nation’s Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo.

Dalung said: “The Federal Executive Council was officially informed that Nigeria had qualified for the World Cup in Russia 2018, having completed our match with Algeria.

“In our plans for Russia 2018, we have a driving philosophy. Our principle for 2018 is that Nigeria is not going to Russia as a spectator, we are contenders. The world should watch out for the new Nigerian soccer.

“From the outcome of what happened yesterday, there is no doubt that Nigeria has made a statement,’’ he concluded.
