Spanish Star Signs For Newcastle United In Permanent Deal

Spanish midfielder Mikel Merino has joined English Premier League (EPL) side Newcastle United on a permanent deal for an undisclosed fee.

Merino, a Spanish u-21 international, joined the Northeast club on loan from German giants Borussia Dortmund during the summer transfer window and has now been rewarded with a five-year-deal at St James’ Park after his impressive start to the season in the black and white colours of the Geordies.

Speaking about Merino, Newcastle United manager Rafael Benitez said:

“He has made a great impression at the club. He has confidence, but he is still young and has things to improve.”

The 21-year old has featured in all of Newcastle’s seven Premier League games this season.
