Spanish La Liga Wrap: Getafe, Athletic Serve Up Thrilling Four-Goal Contest

Getafe and Athletic Bilbao played out a four-goal thriller as the former came from behind twice in their week 20 league clash played at the Coliseum Alfonso Perez on Friday night.

The visitors took a 13th minute lead with a contender for the goal of the season from Inaki Williams but the home side bounced back eight minutes later courtesy a Jorge Molina penalty after Athletic Bilbao goalkeeper Iago Herrerin was penalised for a foul in the box.

Athletic went ahead again from the penalty spot after halftime through Raul Garcia before veteran striker Molina had his spot kick saved by the aforementioned Herrerin three minutes down the line thus missing a very good opportunity to level proceedings for his side following Herrerin’s foul on him.

Getafe were however not to be denied as substitute Angel Rodriguez equalised for the home side with sixteen minutes left to earn them a share of the spoils.

The draw was enough to take both Getafe and Athletic Bilbao two places up the table to 7th and 10th respectively.

Getafe (27 points) leapfrog Eibar and Real Betis into 7th spot while Athletic Bilbao move past Celta Vigo and Girona into 10th place.
