Athletic Bilbao experienced how life could be without their star defender Aymeric Laporte as they played out a 1-1 draw at home to Eibar in what was a week 21 Spanish La Liga clash.

Laporte has been strongly linked with a move to Premier League leaders Manchester City and he was left out of the game as a result.

After a goalless affair in the first half, ageless Spanish international Aritz Aduriz gave the hosts the lead shortly after the interval but the away side bounced back with a leveller through Kike as both sides shared the spoils.

The result takes Athletic Bilbao (27 points) two places up the table from 12th to 10th while Eibar (29 points) move from 8th to 7th because of the draw.
