Slimani Slammed With 3-Match Ban For Violent Conduct

Algerian striker Islam Slimani will miss the rest of the season after he was given a three-match ban for violent conduct.

Slimani, who is on loan at Newcastle United from Leicester City until the end of the season, had earlier been charged with violent conduct for kicking out at West Brom defender Craig Dawson during during Saturday’s 1-0 defeat to the Baggies.

The 29-year-old Algerian was not seen by referee David Coote, however, the incident was caught on video.

A statement from the FA while confirming the ban said: “He accepted the charge but argued the suspension was excessive.”

“This was rejected by an Independent Regulatory Commission.” it added.
