Simy Nwankwo Parts Ways with Crotone

Reports from freekicknaija.com.ng indicate that Super Eagles forward Simeon Nwankwo has parted with Italian club, FC Crotone, having agreed terms with Sporting Lokeren.

‘Simy’ who was part of the Super Eagles squad at the 2018 World Cup in Russia last summer, will join the Belgian side in training camp before the second round of the season kicks off.

The 26-year-old played 2,447 minutes for Crotone scoring 61 goals and was a key player during the club’s stint in the Serie A.

Simy will look to return to Gernot Rohr’s squad list ahead of the 2019 AFCON, after failing to impress the Franco-German coach which led to him being dropped from Nigeria’s qualifying match against South Africa and the friendly against Uganda.
